Ancient Knowledge, Modern Research

The first program the Women’s Institute for Evidence Based Solutions is promoting is the Transcendental Meditation® program. The Transcendental Meditation (TM) technique is from an ancient tradition of knowledge, many thousands of years old. It’s also the most widely researched meditation/self-development program in the world today.

Independently published peer reviewed research shows that Transcendental Meditation technique is the only meditation technique to decrease heart disease, mortality, medical care utilization and medical expenses. It is the only meditation technique to increase EEG coherence, intelligence, and creativity. It increases self actualization three times more than any other meditation or relaxation technique. It's the best technique to decrease drug, alcohol, cigarette use, anxiety, stress and the only technique shown to reduce stress reactivity.

Over 350 peer reviewed published studies have shown the TM technique produces a wide range of benefits in all areas of life - mind, body, relationships, and society. These studies include 36 Random Controlled Trials and 6 Meta-analyses. They have appeared in more than 200 independent publications, including 17 issues of the International Journal of Neuroscience.

The TM program is the perfect example of ancient knowledge being relevant in our modern world, time tested knowledge that significantly improves life. Learn more about TM at TM Women.org.
